ABOUT ME

Amarachi Crystal Esowe is a Nigerian-born, New York-raised multidisciplinary artist, entrepreneur, and visual storyteller whose work explores culture, identity, memory, mental health, and liberation. A lifelong creative, Esowe began drawing at an early age, sketching on any surface available—from scraps of folded paper to the margins of her Bible.

After studying at Monroe Academy for Visual Art and Design, she pursued a degree in Liberal Arts: Social Science and Humanities at LaGuardia Community College, complementing her studies in psychology with a continued focus on the visual arts. This intersection of art and human behavior continues to inform her creative practice today.

Esowe has exhibited her work in restaurants, community spaces, and group exhibitions throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn. Through mixed media, graphic collage, and contemporary portraiture, she creates visual narratives that celebrate the beauty, complexity, resilience, and lived experiences of women. Her work often serves as a subtle yet powerful form of protest, engaging themes of mental health awareness, Black feminism, women's empowerment, culture, and community.
